Quiltsmart Wedding Ring

Welcome to this Fast, Easy & Fun class. Wedding Ring can be scrappy or solid arcs depending on what you love. This quilt is easily made using fat quarters. Each block is eighteen inches, so a fat quarter for the background and four arcs fit on an 18” x 21” fat quarter. Mix it up and use favorite yardages of fabric or play it scrappy.
The pattern will have enough interfacing panels to make up to a queen size quilt by adding borders. If you would like to make more arcs, you will want to purchase more panels. We will talk about this in class.
Fabrics:
- solid arcs -12- fat quarters or 3 yards of fabric (more if you want more variety)
- please note if fabric is directional, you may want 5/8 yard instead.
- pieced arcs- 5’” strips to be cut into wedges, 20 fat quarters or scraps to total 5 yards.
- background - see pattern for yardage depending on the size of the quilt you are making, and I would add an additional yard. Also works well for a variety of low volume fabrics, mixed and matched.
Supplies:
- Machine in good working order, clean with new needle, power cord, foot pedal
- ¼” foot piecing foot
- open toe foot
- good piecing thread
- pins
- scissors
- light weight thread for applique (don’t be afraid, so easy) examples: Wonderfil Invisafil, do not recommend monofilament thread.
- extra needles for machine 80/20
- rotary mat, ruler and cutter
- applique pressing sheet
- seam ripper, just in case!
- optional, wool mat, helpful rolling the seams
