Running With Scissors
Learn techniques on adding zippers, vinyl, and mesh fabric. Learn a new handle technique.
PRE-CLASS HOMEWORK:
It is VERY helpful to have your quilting finished before class.
Please quilt your pieces as per page 2, section B in the pattern.
Tool case finishes at:
9.5"H x 12.5"W x 1.5"D closed
12.5"W x 20.5"W open
Supplies needed:
You will need to bring your sewing machine, regular sewing supplies, thread, and fabric.
A walking foot is handy for this project.
You will need to have or purchase the required pattern.
The pattern calls for:
Main fabric - 3/4 yard
Lining fabric - 3/4 yard
Coordinating fabric - 3/4 yard
Foam stabilizer - 1 yard (58" wide)
Woven interfacing - 1/4 yard
Mesh fabric - 4"x13.5"
Clear vinyl - 12"x12.5"
Handbag zippers -
Two 30" or longer double-slide zippers
One 40" or longer double-slide zipper
1" Strapping - 3/4 yard
Fold-over elastic - 3/4 yard
You are welcome to bring your own lunch or you can bring cash as we usually order in lunch.
