Shay's Angel
This round quilt is made using the 9 degree wedge ruler to cut prepared strata (strips of fabric sewn together create new fabric) into wedges. Forty of the 9-degree wedges will complete a 52-inch circle with approximately a 5-inch opening in the center. Making round quilts using the wedge ruler is simple if you cut accurately and sew exact quarter inch seams. Handle the wedges carefully; they are bias cut pieces and will stretch out of shape.
