City Chic Collage Pattern by Leslie McNeil
This is an original design developed from my creative play with a technique of floral quilted collage, where one uses many small pieces of fabric to create a bouquet of a large heart onto a pillow base. This design features one half of a heart that has a black striped effect, and the other is a pretty bouquet of flowers!
This is a creative technique of raw-edge, fusible applique; detailed instructions with tips and hints are included for you to create a pillow similar using your own fabrics, color and style. Essentially, you choose your floral fabrics, fuse them to a fusible webbing, and then cut them out, arranging them as you like, onto the pillow background fabric. To make a collage, you need lots of many smaller pieces to play with but not lots of yardage.
This pattern's skill level is easy ~ great for all levels of sewers and quilters.
The finished piece can be made into a wall hanging or a pillow. It can be quilted free motion style, or with a walking foot, in a gridded square manner utilizing a straight stitch.
Pattern includes:
- Clear, detailed cover photo
- Step-by-step instructions for an envelope back & binding
- Supply list
- Full-size line drawing of the image for a finished pillow of about 20" square.
